Pretty Damn Spot On

When it comes to Muslim Indian representation there aren't many good options out there but I'd say this one was pretty damn spot on.

As a Muslim Indian woman myself, I struggle to find literature, especially fiction, that I can relate to but rather I find myself sorely disappointed and more often than not frustrated with the misrepresentation that comes with novels that claim to represent Muslim woman so reading Ayesha At Last was extremely enjoyable. Not only did it have a rather good plot it had me laughing and nodding throughout the whole book because most of the scenarios felt like they came straight out of my own life and this is one of only a few books that gave me that level of relatability. In terms of the actual plot, it was entertaining and well-paced the only criticism I could think that could put off some is that it's nothing mindblowing in terms of writing style which is very simplistic but I think that it was perfectly suited for the type of read it is. At this point I feel like I'm just going on about the representation but honestly, the author just perfectly executed it that I can't help but rave.

Overall I think this was a great read but definitely very religiously and culturally centred even though it will have you in a fit of giggles.
