I am generally a reader of romantic contemporaries, so this book was in many ways similar to the genre I usually read. It was a fairly quick, easy and uplifting novel and I enjoyed it greatly.

The novel is about Ayesha and Khalid, two Muslims from the same neighbourhood, with extremely different religious interpretations and very different views on love. Intended as a 'modern day Muslim Pride and Prejudice,' it definitely highlights social differences, cultural differences and issues faced by the entire community, in a way that is both funny and informative.

Although I found some minor parts of the text to be mildly cliche or a little too coincidental, they added to the enjoyableness of the novel rather than detracting from it. Overall, if contemporaries are something you enjoy, and you're interested into a detailed but culturally-sensitive story about Muslim culture, it is definitely worth a read.
