Wonderful representation of Muslims. As a Muslim myself it’s a novel mixed with pride and prejudice but representation of culture intertwined with romance. It shows finally having a representation in novels and it’s not the stereotypical portrayal of muslims. I love how she is a poet and teacher breaking boyfriend of culture and religion. With the ethnicity of being Asian it also breaks further boundaries and allows the protagonist to be olen minded strong and independent . It shows common problems of women Muslim Asians and those captivated by society boundaries. The humour with undercurrent satire creates role model and ambition to readers also going through similar circumstances. I recommend this book to those who love hate to lover story with the main character being a strong willed first women with passion and a chance to learn to break free form society expectations.
