The title and synopsis sound overly dramatic and although I love a good murder mystery, neither would entice me to pick up this book.
After reading through the extract, it's safe to say that this book is clearly aimed at young adults. I feel too old to enjoy this book but I'm sure it'll appeal to those who enjoy young adult novels.
