Starting off strong, I felt like the plot of Bad Things Happen Here was interesting, and I loved the small details littered throughout the novel.
However, it took a little while for it to fully hook me, and while I gave this book a bit longer to catch my attention, normally, I would've stopped reading by chapter 4 if I wasn't interested.
I am, however, glad that I did keep reading as I did get fairly invested in the story, and it was nice to finish it for the closure at the very least.
Another thing I like about Bad Things Happen Here was the queer representation, with a lesbian relationship. It was so refreshing to read, and it didn't feel as though it was thrown in just for the sake of ticking a box either, which was great!
Although, I have to say I didn't particularly feel any attachment to any of the characters, and felt like they were all acting quite entitled at times, when there wasn't necessarily a need for it.
