I wanted so much to like this but I just couldn’t get into it. I found the beginning really intriguing but then beyond that, I was just quite bored.
Obviously “bad things happen here” and the main character goes through a lot but honestly, she’s just so mean. I struggled with her anyway but her attitude towards her friend when she had something else to do, was unbelievable!
She just seemed to want everyone to herself.
I get like so many things needed more explanation. Like Jade continually helping? The last time completely unprompted which felt unlikely.
Then the build up towards the ending was meh? I was unimpressed. I could see why because of the entitlement.
However, it felt a little rushed to me.
I feel like this comes off as whingey as the main character came off to me, whoops.
Just gutted that this wasn’t the super enticing book I was expecting
