Death in paradise...
For a YA mystery/thriller, I found this really enjoyable and better than I was expecting.
With short chapters and a fast paced story, I found myself whizzing through this - which was good because I was eager to find out what had happened.
The story itself is set on Parris; an idyllic island which beneath the picture perfect surface holds darker, murkier secrets and perhaps even a potential curse.
Luca Laine Thomas drives this story as we find out about a backlog of previous unsolved mysteries, which seem to have foreshadowed her sister's untimely death. Is there actually a curse or something more human involved?
Obviously this is pitched at the young adult market, but despite not falling into the targeted age range - I did enjoy the story. It was a quick, engaging read - ideal as a summer holiday read. There were however some questions that seemed still unanswered, but maybe that's the mystery.
