A very intriguing read, I was really looking forward to reading it as I love murder mysteries and this was a wonderfully easy read. I loved the main character Luca who is not only plus sized and mixed raced, but she’s also bisexual and I loved her personality and the way she is portrayed through the story.
Luca lives on an island that’s haunted, and she lost her best friend to an ‘accidental drowning’, but Luca is not convinced, she thinks the island is cursed. When Luca’s sister is then found dead, Luca starts investigating for herself – she is determined to get to the bottom of these murders.
There is also a romance involved as Luca starts falling for the girl next door, Naomi. She also struggles with her mental health and the grief she feels for her sister and her best friend. You have to keep turning the pages to find out what Luca unearths on the island.
