The premise of this book really did appeal to me. I was intrigued to see how the YA genre and the murder mystery element would work together.

The positives are the chapters are short and focused, it’s like every word matters and links to the end result or discovery.

I also liked the range of characters. Each were developed nicely and also seemed to be well thought out too.

In terms of the genre, YA is a really special genre which is so popular at the moment so I can see this book also being popular with the followers of that genre.

It wasn’t like anything I’ve read recently to be honest but that isn’t a bad thing. I did enjoy it and found it engaging.

However, it’s not something that I would choose for myself and pick up in the shop. I guess it’s one of those where appearances are deceiving.

Overall, a good read for followers of this genre. I didn’t like the blend of the two but that’s personal preference.
