I sped through this book as it was definitely a page-turner, especially with the short chapters. I also find it interesting how the author has portrayed Luca in this story as the main character, with a mental health condition. The book is set in an island called Parris, where mainly the white, privileged, and good-looking people live. Luca on the other hand is described as a plump person of minority ethnicity. Many women have died on the island of Parris, along with Luca's best-friend Polly and her sister.
Admittingly it was a difficult book to really enjoy reading, but the murder and mystery involved kept me going till the end. The characters are all diverse for a change, which is a hats off to the author. The writing style was generally good and i'm glad the romance was kept to a minimum and did not take over the entire murder-mystery plot.
