I love a murder mystery so I thought this book would be for me, perhaps similar to Family of Liars by E.Lockhart. However, it really didn’t meet the mark for me.
The main flaw of this book, for me, was that I could not believe anyone would behave how the protagonist, Luca, did. It was one of those books where you keep thinking “why isn’t she telling her parents”.
Another issue for me was that I disliked Luca. The romantic relationship was also underdeveloped, and I could not understand why Naomi stood by Luca considering the way she behaved. I was also able to predict some of the twists/reveals, and I didn’t like the book’s ending.
This book tried to do something great, and I appreciated that the author tried to create a complex protagonist who struggles with her mental health, but I found that even this part of the story was not developed enough.
Sadly, this book was not for me, but I’m sure that many others will enjoy it.
