Luca lives on an island called Parris. There is, she believes a curse that kills people or so the stories around the island say, there has been a lot of unsolved murders of young girls on the island. Luca had lost her best friend polly to the curse and then her sister but she’s had enough and doesn’t want to lose anyone else! There’s a new girl who has moved into Pollys old house and no matter what Luca tells herself about not getting close to Naomi she can’t help it! This story focuses a lot on mental health and grief. The is a young adult book, the chapters are short which a lot of people will like and the cover is idyllic. I didn’t like the ending, there was something missing to the story and I felt that the story dragged a lot! It didn’t grab my attention as much as a lot of other ‘who done it’ books do. The character of polly was mentioned a hell of a lot throughout the book that I expected some reveal of what happened to her but there was nothing and the other girls who died, maybe this will be part of a series and there will be other books explaining more
