i am not sure if this is classed as a young fiction book. from reading it i would say it is.
it is centred around an island called parris and the young people that live there. luca and whitney are black girls living on island full of white rich people. luca believes there is a curse on the island as if you look back in history including her best friend from next door. people die.
it isn't until lucas sister dies that luca still her best to solve the puzzle.
a new girl moves in her old best friend house next door and they fall in love.
luca manages to unravel the whole mystery.
