The idyllic town of Parris is cursed and is claiming the lives of young women….

A teen / YA novel with a murder mystery twist.

Luca lives in a predominantly white, upper class area. The kind of place where people have enough money to make their problems disappear.
Some suspicious deaths of young girls lead Luca to investigate the curse which plagues Parris. Asking the way she will discover that all is not what it seems in paradise. Is the town cursed, or is there something much more sinister going on?

There are Queer characters, but it is refreshingly understated. Their gayness is fairly inconsequential and does not define them, and it’s good to see normalising of this in literature.

It’s a relatively short read at just over 300 pages, with short chapters. Perfectly suited to its target audience.

I would recommend this to fans of Karen M.McManus’ “One of Us…” series
