this book fell flat. it had characters that didn't have any personalities. it had a bit of mystery but the characters being so unlikeable doesn't even make up for it. I think this is a debit novel and I feel like I can't be critical because that would be a bit mean but overall its just a very flat book with a decent plot but bad writing and unlikeable characters whirling together to make not even a novel but simply words on a page.

i don't think this is anything new for a book. it doesn't feel original in any way. I can see it being popular and then fading away because its just so forgettable.

that doesn't mean to say that it didn't have its positives. we like a mysterious girl next door character. the main character was very strong willed which I admire and everyone had their flaws which does make it relatable. but when you smush all of these things together into one book, it simply isn't enough.

I think teens will like this but that's it. they'll just "like" it. not love it. not obsess over it. its not one of those books. you read it as a palet cleanser after a fantasy series or a long scifi book and then you get back to what you really want to read.

if you're looking for a quick summer read then I recomend it. if you're wanting something with substance and grit, move on and find something else.
