I found this book to be addictive and all encompassing at times. It is set on a small, glamorous island, home to the ultra rich and their parties. However the dark nature of the murders contrasts the setting only heightening the sense of injustice.

The murders and the thrilling chase to solve the curse also acts as a vessel for a deeper exploration of human nature. This book offers insight into complex family dynamics, mental health issues, racial disparities and sapphic relationships. It is focused around the main character and her thoughts and feelings as she unravels her daughters death and this perspective allows us to see her character development as-well as offering an explanation to her choices,

My only criticism is i felt the ending rather let the book down. Throughout it felt very high stakes, explosive and engaging. However the ending felt like it left a few loose ends and was a little anticlimactic.

Overall though an excellent read which i would highly recommend!
