This is a nice story, 10 year old Yara, who has had a wandering life so far, due to her dad's job, finally has the chance to go to ballet school. Here she finds that having a common interest is a great way to make friends. She has had online lessons but is bursting to go and try the real thing and has an ambition of becoming a ballet dancer. I'm sure readers will be able to relate to Yara being over excited about going to her first lesson, but also apprehensive about fitting in. There are some good messages, the teacher Miss Diamond says "Dream big, work hard and you can definitely achieve it". Watch out for the horrible land lady who wants to close the school down! A lovely story, but you have to want to know a bit about ballet as there are quite detailed instructions about the basics. Of course Yasmin Nagdhi is a ballet professional, and this shows through. The illustrations by Paula Franco are superb. A lovely book, but you must want to know about ballet!
