I found this book utterly charming. The story is about ballet loving Yara and her friends from the ballet school. The book goes from Zara’s first day at the new school, making friends, some problems along the way and how they all pull together for a feel good ending. Although aimed at children, I still found it interesting and a pleasant book to read. It was a lovely heart-warming story and the authors love and knowledge of ballet shines through.

With so many books written about fantasy places and characters, this was lovely for its simplicity, message and storytelling. Reading it felt like a big friendly hug!

I loved the sections at the end that explained some of the technical ballet terms, basic positions and the story of sleeping beauty. I also will have to try the recipe for Mrs Madani’s Mattentaart- it looks delicious. This book way may inspire some children to take up ballet.
