My niece really loved the plot and characters created by the author in Ballet Besties, a story with morals about friendship, bonding over a love of the same thing (in this case, ballet) and lessons we learn along the way. The writing was exciting and flowed well, keeping her engaged throughout and really helped with literacy skills, as well as life skills ore generally. The ballet theme also allows kids to enter a world of make believe, or gain an interest in ballet and dancing more generally, to help their physical strength and wellbeing. The fact that friendship is also a key focus is important for young children as well as they navigate school and the world outside the family home, create friendships and bonds and interests of their own. This is a story I know she will return to again and again, and there are always new discussion points that come up each time. A great read, and an interesting story!
