This book is a simple story of a child moving to a new place to live and the problems that can arise from this. Yara loved her old ballet school and is unsure about the new one she is to attend. However, she had no need to be concerned as all of the children are friendly and happy to welcome another dancer to their class. Yara likes her new ballet teacher and would far rather go to ballet lessons than go to school.
The story comes to a head when there are rumours that the ballet school will close as the owner of the building is not happy about the school. Yara (what a brave girl) goes to see the wealthy owner and is then determined that she will save the ballet class.
Along with her new friends she puts on a show and then surprising things happen.
The pictures in the book are great and are a good aid to the story. Being in black and white was a different and clever idea on the part of the illustrator.
