Yasmine Naghdi - an interesting and well informed author

I found the cover of this paperback book to be visually alluring to today's multi cultural readership, which also reflected one if the paramount themes of this novel. Whilst the primary character, Yara s story is ostensibly about ballet, in actuality it is about a veritable multiplicity of inter-related issues. These include feelings of alienation, fear of the new, the importance of embracing and overcoming fear to both inspire and motivate our own little communities. The lesson is that by confronting such issues, we are empowering ourselves to progress towards overcoming problems with friends and family, along with wider social issues. We learn that by standing together, embracing our differences as well as our similarities, we are so much stronger.

This is not a didactic read, but is mostdefinitely a learning experience.
