A beautiful story for young readers ( 6-7+).
In her young life Yara has had to move home many times, due to her father’s occupation. However, she now finds herself in a new country where she will have the opportunity to be more settled and make friends. Ever since she was four years old she has been passionate about ballet and now for the first time she will be able to attend formal ballet classes.
What follows is a heartwarming story about friendship and the ability to overcome problems with determination and cooperation. Also why it is important in life to spread your interests and not to be too obsessive about one thing.

The story is very engaging with just the right amount of detail about ballet. There are plenty of charming illustrations and a section at the end of the book which explains the basic ballet positions, outlines the plot of the Sleeping Beauty ballet and provides a recipe for a delicious cake!
The author’s love of ballet shines through and I cannot help but think that the character of Yara is based a little bit on the author herself.
A lovely addition to any young dancer’s bookshelf.
