Jess French is an extremely talented television presenter of Minibeast Adventure as well as an author and veterinarian. In her children's books she uses all her knowledge and expertise from her degree in zoology along with her working experience to create amazing stories for children. In Beastlands: Race to Frostfall Mountain the author introduces her readers to the three main characters: Kayla Karakka is a Sky Cadet in Sophiatown who shares a close bond with her pangron, Faro. Unfortunately Faro is very clumsy and mischievous and the two find themselves trying to avoid getting into trouble with the commander of the Sky Cadets. In Ataria in the Blue District, Alethea Bashoa is the local healer having taken over from her father after his recent death from the scourge, A disease which is rampant on the island and killing many people. The third main character is Rustus Furi, a trainee warrior on the eve of the last trials to become a fully fledged warrior. It's going to be very interesting to follow these three on their adventures.
