As the book starts out
"Before there were people,there were beasts,
Before there were beasts,there were plants,
Before there were plants,there was an island,
Before there was an island,there was ocean...."
This is a story not only of children finding out about their own part in the world BUT about how the adults undermine them and give them false information.
Kayla,Rustus and Alethea meet by chance and realise the stories they have been told about "The Outside World" and together in their quest they manage to find a cure for "the scourge"-covid? which is transmitted by insect bites and not "webspinners" as they are constantly told.
There are fantastic beasts,people,forests and plants in their quest but as is happening now the adults only look after their immediate colonies/tribe and beggar the plight of others.
i think all adults will appreciate the story!
