The story begins in this fantasy land and I liked the fantasy beast - the pangron as it was very puppy like and there was a close relationship between him and the character Kayla. Each chapter is written from the point of view of another character within the Beastlands and as the other characters are introduced the reader is more aware of this fantasy land and the storyline. If you like fantasy quest adventures this book is definitely the book for you.
I thought it was very well written as the author gives the necessary details to capture a vivid picture of what this world and those that live there are like. There is danger and consequences to actions and I liked that there was a parallel eco message within the story. In particular how valuable resources are and how they can become insufficient to demand with the consequence that this affects others health.
