When I read the premise for Before Her Eyes I wasn’t left feeling inspired and thought it all sounded a little flaky, however the First Impression proved to be gripping and grabbed and held my attention easily. Well-written and emotional, I was impressed by how the author conveyed the claustrophobic panic of being blind and allowed the reader to empathise with Naomi.
I also love small town settings where the whole community is so tightly knit and with Naomi living there since birth she must know more than her fair share of the secrets and lies over the years and have her own suspicions about the source of danger..
Fabulous start and looks to be a rewarding mix of a psychological thriller and police procedural. Certainly keen to read!
