When I first opened the PDF an started to read, I found that the prologue intriguing as it opens with this description of a monster called Palido, of whom was described elaborately and was effect at building an image in your mind. I found some of the adjectives to be a bit basic but enjoyed the overall effect of it.
I found the first chapter to be great as it was very descriptive and successful at getting the main plot across. There was about 5 characters all introduced at once which made it a bit confusing as I got some of them muddled but I was overall nice and short. On the second page however, I did find that the word 'Spirals' was repeated 5 times in a short chunk of text which did mean that the section tended to drag on a bit.
In chapter two, we seemed to go more in depth about the characters and got a look at some of their backstories. It was, again, nice and short which seemed to keep the story flowing nicely.
I found chapter three to be great for world building and again, describing some of the characters alongside their backstories. Like the rest of the extract, it included a great variety of vocab to help me invision the world.
In chapter four, the last chapter, we got to see how two of the characters backstories merge together which created a nice and smooth connection between the characters. By this time we seemed to get a nice feel for the characters personalities.
I believe that the cover of the novel really en captures the mysterious but truly marvelous scenery of the word. I cannot wait for this book to be released to read more.
