What an interesting start to a book, truly unique. Ben, on his way to a part of the world where forgetting what has happened to you there is key, is already slipping into changing as a person within our first impressions of him. An honestly impressively gripping start.
The descriptive work is pure art, allowing you to picture so clearly, moment by moment, what is unfolding. The cover adds into this, and again, is gripping. Seeing this cover in shop would he an "ooooh" moment, followed by immediately needing to curl up with it having read the beginning.
I already feel like this is a book I need to continue with immensely. A few pages preview has gripped me in a way few books have, which is really remarkable. I would not just "like" to read more, but "need" to read more. If this book was in my hands, I would not be moving to do anything else until I had devoured it!
