Beneath the World, a sea; the authors writing style really enchants the reader and sets the story in motion. Linking the characters and their unusual surroundings to the myth at the beginning really puts the upcoming events into perspective.

The cover of the book and the synopsis definitely make the book out to be much more interesting, complex and compelling than it actually is. The story is very slow paced and repetitious. The characters although varied are a bit tedious and hard to relate to in any aspect.

Honestly, this is a different take to the sci-fi genre, one that I've never encountered before and I doubt I will ever see a book quite like it again.

Would I recommend it?
I would recommend it to someone with more patience than myself and a love for sci-fi but definitely not anyone who doesn't have a love of the genre or wacky psychological mind benders.
