"Beneath the World, A Sea" was a very strange book to read. This reminded me very much so of a newer and more modern version of an H.P. Lovecraft book. I really enjoy science fiction and fantasy books, but this verged on sci fi mixed with horror. This was a really interesting book to me, in a sense of typical sci fi. Unfortunately, I wasn't the biggest fan of this book for a few reasons. I feel like this wasn't very original. I felt like I've read this story a thousand times before. I don't really know who this audience is for. Other than that, I enjoyed the main character and the actual plot of this story. I found the creatures to be creepy and interesting. I would imagine that this would be a great movie.
