The first half of this book was so hard to read it was really slow but give it time then it does pick up again. This book is about a British police officer Ben Ronson, he arrives in a mysterious forest to investigate a spate of killings of Duendes. They are humanoid creatures with black button eyes and long limbs. In this book the Duendes live in a place where you’ve got to pass through the NUS. Once you’ve passed through there you have no memory at all. So anything could happen. Ben has notebooks of what he’s written when he’s been through the NUS. Yet you never really find out what actually happened and that’s what lowered my review for me. I want to know what he did at NUS. Also you never find out about the Duendes how they are so psychic and he never stops the killings.. too many questions left unanswered for me.
