When I first saw this book, I wasn't sure about the cover. I think it would put me off in the shops. However, the blurb drew me in. Stories about friendships, especially enduring ones between women, are hard to come by. Further, in today's society, I think it is so important to have books based from countries around the globe, rather than your typical UK and US backdrops.
