Honest and unflinching
Zahra and Maryam have a friendship that is destined to last the end of time. Theirs is a friendship with such spirit and joy at fourteen, that it would be sad if it didn’t exist generations later.
From the book’s overarching themes, this is a friendship they will hold with tenacity. I would love to see it evolve and possibly grow as they take vastly separate paths.
This is a book I have no doubt I could lose myself in. For me it presents an alternative life that could have been mine had I grown up as a South Asian woman in Pakistan instead of England. I would feel privileged to read this book!
