The engaging, evocative style immediately helped to build up a picture of the girls and their relationship. The dialogue seemed easy, and revealed a lot, and there were pointers to changes and potential tensions which indicated what the novel might explore. I was hooked, and can't wait to read more and see how the friendships survive (or not) over time.
