A lovely story just felt it was missing something...
I really enjoyed the flow and story of this book. The characters grow and develop as you read making you feel very involved in their life.
It was interesting to read abiut what life is like in another culture and how class can affect the daily struggle. The book portrays gender,class and culture very well and we, as readers, really find ourselves submersed into it. As a white female this really opened my eyes and made me reflect on white privilege as well as the rights western women have in comparison.
However I do feel like something was missing. I was expecting for it to be a more half warming style with the two resolving their differences and becoming friends again after all those years. For me it just felt like a very none ending, I was left disappointed for myself as a reader but also for the characters- they deserved more.
So overall it was a good read, just lacking the satisfying ending!
