I found the first half of the book, when Zhara and Maryam where 14, more interesting than the second half. I’m not sure why but I felt myself wanting to read the first half more than I did the second half. With the second half, I felt quite a few things were going on at the same time so I found it quite difficult to keep up with everything. This is just my opinion and will be different for other people! I quite liked the way it was written and thought it was quite easy to read. I liked the contrast between how Maryam grew up and how Zhara grew up, I feel like it made you able to relate a bit more to the characters. It also gave you a good insight to life in different areas of the world that not many people know about and how their life is so much more different than what a lot more people is used to. It definitely made me more aware of different situations around the world!
