I wasn't that impressed initially as the blurb did not appeal to me and i find the cover rather cold.
However, the opening chapters have softened my opinion a little and have me intrigued. The trope of the meddling mother in law is nothing new, but what has she done that makes her so unpopular with both her own daughter and her son in law.
The twins and their increasing strange behaviour has echoes of the twins in The Shining and to invoke such a classic horror book is dangerous/daring.
Nevertheless, i am quite curious about the book now and would quite like to read it.
