I'm not sure what to make of this first impression. The cover is unusual but I can't decide whether I like it or not. I don't feel that the cover image truly reflects the nature of the synopsis.
The synopsis and extract are intriguing but given that I'm not a fan of gothic tales, I'm not sure whether this is a book that I would want to read.
