From only the short extract from this book, I'm hooked already. I really want to read more.
Alfie and his twin daughters are still grieving for Pippa, the twins' mother and Alfie's wife, who has died nine to ten months previously. From an accident or illness is not quite clear. Alfie is not helped by his mother in law's attitude to him and his ownership of her and her twins', Pippa and Julia, childhood home.
Alfie is worried about his daughters' sudden spate of nightmares where they insist a man is in their room at night time. Shortly, the nightmares seem to subside but now they have a "friend" called Black Mamba who they say is a snake....
