The front cover caught my eye and the blurb of the book pulled me in and gave me chills straight away.
The book is about Sylvia and Cassie, twins of Alfie and Pippa, who came to Alfie one night saying that there's a man at the foot of their bed. Alfie assumes it's an imaginary friend who has developed since the death of their mother nine months ago. The twins refer to him as Black Mamba who turns into animals but it soon becomes more sinister.
I found that I had more questions and there was a still a lot left unanswered. I lost the timing at some points which took me out the book and unless I have missed something, I also felt that I was building up for a big moment or reveal which never happened. However, the book did really well to keep me intrigued and creeped out throughout the entire book which is rare and hard to do so kudos to the author. I think it would work really well as a film.
