This was a darkly chilling and compelling read, and I'm grateful to Reader's First for sending me an advanced copy to read and review.
Following the death of Pippa, her husband and twin daughters are struggling. One night the girls come into their father's rooms and told him there was a man in their room. The man...who the girls refer to as Black Mamba... becomes an almost full time presence in their lives, and even their Psychotherapist aunt is not able to break through.
This is quite a dark novel, with lots of unwritten threads running through it. The book clearly deals with the threads of loss and desire, as well as something more demonic and other wordly. I'm not sure I fully understood all the twists and turns the plot took, but it was an enjoyable enough read, and I'm glad that I had the opportunity to read it - even if I feel I maybe need to go back to see if I missed something.
