I was really looking forward to reading this book, it’s not my usual genre and I was excited to give something new a go. Black Mamba didn’t disappoint.

Twin girls have recently lost their mother, Pippa, and their father Alfie has to cope with the loss of his wife and dealing with looking after their girls. I find it very interesting reading about the memories children has, especially younger ones as it’s more difficult for them to have been influenced and to be able to make up these memories. I couldn’t put the book down as I just wanted to keep turning the pages to find out what on earth was going on.

Alfie calls on Pippa’s sister, Julia, to help him look after the twins. Julia is a psychotherapist who is trying to work out why Black Mamba, an invisible friend, is having such increasingly worrying and demonic behaviour from the twins after their mother’s death.

I love the writing style in this disturbing book, it was very easy to read and the story was very fluent. I would love to know if there is going to be a sequel to Black Mamba.
