Overall a really gripping read! It's not often I think about a book so much when I'm not reading it!
I didn't expect the tension in this book to peak in quite the way it did, for me as a non believer in supernatural/ghostly happenings. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.
The story had quite a confusing family situation and even having finished the book now, I still don't fully 'get' why Pippa and her father died and whether it was at the hands of Black Mamba.
The mum/nan Marian was an odd character and irritated me quite a bit. She seemed to cause the most confusion as she appeared at odd times and said odd things and I wasn't sure why, when everyone seemed to despise her and disagree with her beliefs and ideas, she was still allowed to lurk about and come to Hart House to spend time with the family- especially the twins.
The ending I saw coming, however many of the twists in the story threw me off track getting there. The last paragraph where the girls claimed they were only joking seemed to destroy my original theory of how the story would end..
