The title and cover of this book grabbed my attention, and then the précis, made it a must read for me. I didn’t realise what a can of worms I would be opening. Initially I thought it would be a typical ghost story like so many before… but I was pleasantly surprised. It is a dual dialogue written novel switching between the two main characters recounting the story. It deals with a father’s loss of the love of his life and how his twin daughters are finding a way to cope with it. Add to the mix an egocentric/ narcissistic mother of the dead wife with “different” afterlife beliefs and the structure is set for an intriguing novel. I did not realise how much I would be moved reading this book. The emotions are so well written especially as the sister in law has deep issues to deal with too. Once I started this book I could not put it down and read it in 24 hours. A very good debut novel and will look out for more by this new author
