I'm not usually into scary books but I couldn't put this one down.

Black Mamba - is he an imaginary friend? A figment of two young childrens' imagination? Or something much more sinister?

A widower lives in his dead wife's family home with their twin daughters, supported by her sister who grew up there. She's repressed memories of her childhood, but when her nieces begin to mention an imaginary friend named 'Black Mamba', something starts to tug at her imagination...

As Black Mamba becomes and bigger and bigger part of the girls' lives, their behaviour deteriorates and they blame it on 'him', 'Black Mamba told me to do it' becomes a common phrase and their father and aunt do not know what to do.

The story has an explosive ending that you won't see coming. I wanted to stop reading and couldn't stop reading at the same time and it's a story that will stay with you long after you've turned the last page.
