A friend gave me her copy of this book to read and I was really keen to get started having read the synopsis.
It has been a long time since a book I've read has made me feel physically uneasy and on edge, wanting to turn the lights on to avoid being alone in the dark etc but this one did just that!
I think the fact that only the child could see or hear this black mamba character made the story especially chilling. I immediately really felt for her, assuming that it was something that had manifested itself following on from the death of a close family member but soon I realised that there was much more to it.
A good mixture of easy going easy to read narrative and drama and fear!
I hadn't heard of this author before this week but now I'm looking at purchasing more from the same writer in the near future.
Definitely recommended! But maybe not if you're scared of the dark!
