Absolutely riveting - I loved the First Look of this book, it pulled me in instantly. But what is it? It starts a little, creepily with the possibility that a stranger has entered the house during the night but that turns out to just be a nightmare/bad dream experienced by twin girls. Or is it?
A modern-day story with believable characters suffering from the loss of Pippa, wife mother, sister, daughter. There are definite gothic undertones in this novel. Who, or what, is Black Mamba - a figment of the combined imaginations of young twins or is it something more sinister? Alfie, their father is uneasy and so, it appears, is their aunt. Returning to the home of her childhood, the house that is now home to the twins and their bereaved father, she also appears to be ill at ease. Something is a-foot.....but what? It is a pity that summer is here - this seems to be a great novel to read on a dark night.
