A dramatic cover leads into a gripping prologue which ramps up the tension within a mundane setting. The writing is masterful to provide so much story and so much emotion whilst simply describing a child on a train.

The story moves on with a good mix of family, love of life, ambition and hope before fear and danger appear again. Neil Lancaster will surely deliver a swooping thriller with, hopefully, a great and satifying ending.

("AFRODITA DUSHKU WAS", the first 3 words of the prologue, caused me to stumble right at the start of the book. The emboldened cpitals looked like a three word name but as I read on the sentence seemed incomplete. So I had to go back to read it again with "WAS" as the verb. It was like stepping off a kerb unexpectedly and made an uncomfortable start.)
