I really enjoyed this book, and read it in a couple of days.
It starts with a young girl, Affi who has been trafficked from Albania to smuggle drugs. Her rescue by the police starts a long string of events involving trafficking, drugs and prostitution.
This is essentially a crime novel, where the police force are hunting the Albanian king pin whilst trying to deal with corrupt police officers who are feeding information to the Albanian gang leader.
The writing was great, and I loved the banter between the police which gave the impression that they had clearly worked together for some time and knew and trusted each other well. All the procedure, and threat was also written in a truly believable way.
The characterisation of the main characters was well done, although I felt the 15-year Affi could have been better developed. However, she had become a bit of a background character after the first quarter of the book.
All on all a good crime thriller.
