What an absolutely superb crime / police procedural! This is probably my favourite genre to read and one I always get stuck into. Blood runs cold is 100% up there as a favourite!
As this is a fourth in the series and I haven’t read the previous books, I worried a little, however I can confirm there was no reason to worry because I absolutely devoured the book.
I became fully absorbed in the story, I absolutely loved the characters and the interactions between them, the banter is great - there’s some laugh out loud moments! It’s incredibly fast paced and full of tension. There was some chapters that really made me feel on the edge of my seat and nervous to read what happened next.
The author has written this brilliantly, the whole storyline on an Albanian gang, county lines drug running, trafficking of young victims, bent cops. It’s full of authentic detail and really does keep the reader engaged. I read up on the authors background in policing and found it interesting! Some great knowledge and passion in this book 👏🏻
I definitely need to read more by Neil Lancaster and my first mission is to read book 1, 2 and 3 of this series!
